What's the difference between a subscription and a top-up?

Every user of this website has an account that he or she accesses by inputting a username and password. All users also have credits in there accounts that are used to purchase search results (1 credit per result). However, there are two different methods of adding credits to one's account.

Subscription

Users who sign up for monthly subscriptions are automatically charged the value of their subscription each month by PayPal. When the payment has cleared, credits are added to the user's account. (Payment is usually cleared within a couple of minutes, but for some methods of payment, including bank transfer, this may take up to three days.) The number of credits that is added depends, of course, on the level of subscription for which the user has signed up. For example, if you've signed up for a $5.00/month subscription, every month, you'll have 10 credits to use.

As you can see, monthly subscriptions cost substantially less per credit and therefore provide better value for money. However, users should be aware that credits from subscriptions cannot be used after a subscription is cancelled. This means that a monthly subscription may not be the way to go if you are a casual user.

Top-up

Users who do not use the service enough to justify a monthly subscription can create an account and add credits whenever they need them – and these credits do not expire. Purchasing credits like this is called topping-up one's account. If you've run out of credits, you'll be prompted to up your account. You will only ever be billed once for a top-up.

As mentioned above, a monthly subscription is better value, but it's not necessarily the best option for you. Top-ups cost more per credit, but the credits last forever, whereas subscription credits only last one month and cannot be used after the subscription is cancelled.

Create an account with non-expiring credits.

What do I do if I can't access my PayPal email address?

We cannot verify your identity except through the email address provided by PayPal. Our system uses this email address as the only contact point for your account. Because of this, we are unable to accept any requests to change the email address used by our system. You can update your email address with PayPal using the steps below.

To change your email address in PayPal, click on Profile (under My Account), then click on Email. You will be able to add or remove email addresses and set your primary address.

When do my credits expire?

If you're signed up for a subscription, your credits only last for one month. If you've added credits to your account by topping-up, your credits never expire. See the previous question for the differences between monthly subscriptions and top-ups.

Can I get a refund?

We do not offer change-of-mind refunds, nor will we refund cash for unused credits. We are, of course, legally obligated to provide a refund if we've falsely advertised or not delivered what we promised.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your account at any time.

Your subscription can be cancelled by logging in to your PayPal account and going to the 'Recurring Payments' screen (to be found under 'Profile'). You can also cancel your account by clicking the Unsubscribe button on the Account page.

Where can I get help?

We do not offer phone support, but you can email us on support@reversephones.com.au.

Can I share my username and password with friends or colleagues?

Yes, although please note that this means that they can access and use your credits. You are responsible for the safe-keeping of your login details as Reverse Phones Australia will not offer any refund on this basis.

Can I use my account from more than one computer?

Yes, the nature of your login means that you can access your account from any computer with an internet connection and access to the site. As above, please note that this means that if anyone gets hold of your login details they can access and use your credits. You are responsible for the safe-keeping of your login details as Reverse Phones Australia will not offer any refund on this basis.

Can you set up a site licence for my company?

Of course we can. Many of our clients are corporations that require unlimited subscriptions, site licences or entire suburb or state databases. We're happy to work with you on any project and can export our data in any format you would like. Just contact us on corporate@reversephones.com.au and let us know what you need.
